TPI Composites, the largest manufacturer of independent composite wind turbine blades in the United States, announced on March 19 that it has signed a multi-year supply contract with Vestas Wind System (VestasWind System A/S), using its four blade production lines. The newly developed V150-4.2 MW fan supplies blades to serve the global market.
It is said that these blades will be produced at the new plant of TPI Composites. The new plant is located in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China. The first phase covers an area of approximately 80,000 square meters and is expected to be commissioned in the first half of 2019. The new plant uses the latest blade production technology and can also produce molds. Yangzhou is located in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River Delta in China, with convenient water and land transportation, making TPI Composite Materials better serve wind power customers in China and around the world.
