LFT-G® TPU LGF60 Long Glass Fiber Reinforced TPU Composite

 Ultra-High Stiffness · Excellent Toughness · Low-Temperature Impact · Abrasion Resistant
LFT-G® GF50 PP Pellet

LFT-G® TPU LGF60 is a 60% long glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic polyurethane compound engineered for applications that demand an exceptional combination of rigidity, toughness, and durability. The continuous glass fiber network transforms soft TPU into a structural material with metal-like stiffness, while retaining the elastomeric resilience that TPU is known for.

The TPU matrix delivers outstanding abrasion resistance, excellent low-temperature impact strength, and good chemical resistance, while the long glass fibers provide high tensile and flexural modulus, low warpage, and dimensional stability. This makes LFT-G® TPU LGF60 an ideal lightweight replacement for metal in automotive, industrial, and consumer applications.

Why Choose TPU LGF60?

TPU LGF60 VS. TPU GF60 Performance Comparison

LFT-G® TPU LGF60 combines the elasticity and abrasion resistance of TPU with the stiffness and load-bearing capacity of long glass fiber reinforcement. Compared to short-glass TPU, it delivers significantly higher tensile and flexural modulus, better creep resistance, and more stable dimensional performance. Its low warpage and excellent toughness make it ideal for precision structural parts that must withstand impact, vibration, and continuous load.

01

Ultra-High Stiffness with Elastomeric Toughness

The 60% long glass fiber network delivers metal-like rigidity, while the TPU matrix absorbs impact energy and resists cracking under sudden loads-a combination that rigid engineering plastics cannot match.

02

Excellent Low-Temperature Impact

TPU LGF60 maintains high impact strength even at sub-zero temperatures, making it suitable for cold-climate applications, winter sports equipment, and outdoor structural components.

product-15-15

This processing guide is specifically developed for LFT long glass fiber reinforced thermoplastics. All parameters are optimized for low‑shear processing to maintain fiber length and maximize mechanical performance.

A metering screw with 18:1‑22:1 L/D ratio, combined with a large open nozzle and free‑flow check valve, minimizes fiber breakage during injection. Proper equipment selection preserves fiber length distribution and ensures consistent part strength.

LFT-G® TPU LGF60 exhibits good melt stability within the recommended processing window. Adequate mold temperature promotes surface quality and minimizes residual stress. Purge with unfilled TPU or PP before shutdown to prevent material degradation and nozzle blockage.

  • Pre‑drying: 4‑5 hrs @ 88‑100°C (desiccant dryer required)
  • Melt Temperature: 230‑270°C
  • Mold Temperature: 60‑90°C
  • Injection Pressure: 70‑105 MPa
  • Screw L/D: 18:1‑22:1, metering type

Note: Use a large open nozzle and a free‑flow check valve to preserve fiber length. Purge with unfilled TPU or PP before shutdown. Avoid excessive residence time above 280°C.

FAQ

Q: What makes TPU LGF60 different from glass fiber reinforced rigid plastics?

A: TPU LGF60 combines high stiffness with elastomeric toughness. Unlike rigid plastics that can crack under impact, the TPU matrix absorbs energy and resists fracture, while the long glass fibers provide the rigidity needed for structural loads. This makes it ideal for applications requiring both strength and durability.

Q: Can TPU LGF60 be used for outdoor applications?

A: Yes. TPU LGF60 offers good UV resistance and maintains mechanical properties under prolonged outdoor exposure. It also retains impact strength at low temperatures, making it suitable for outdoor structural components, winter sports equipment, and cold-climate applications.

Q: What is the recommended processing method for LFT-G® TPU LGF60?

A: Use standard injection molding machines with a low-compression screw and a free-flow check valve. Pre-dry at 88-100°C for 4-5 hours. The recommended melt temperature is 230-270°C and mold temperature is 60-90°C. Purge with unfilled TPU or PP before shutdown.
