Fakuma 2026 at a Glance

Fakuma 2026 brought buyers, engineers, and material specialists together in Friedrichshafen, and the LFT-G stand gave visitors a direct way to compare long glass fiber and long carbon fiber options in one place. For background on the joint presence, see LFT-G Partners With HIGHTECH Polymer At Fakuma 2026. The table below records the essential show details, so readers who could not attend can still place the visit, the venue, and the materials on display in context.

Three Questions Buyers Asked Most

Is LFT Recyclable?

Recyclability was the first question many visitors raised, because end-of-life handling now shapes material choice as much as part performance. Thermoplastic LFT can be reprocessed, but the result is not a simple repeat of the original compound. Reprocessing shortens fiber length, so a reprocessed part cannot be expected to match the performance of a virgin long-fiber part. That distinction matters when strength, stiffness, or impact resistance is part of the design requirement.

For that reason, LFT-G uses 100% virgin material for new parts, rather than recycled feedstock. Buyers should therefore discuss the intended application first, so the grade can be selected for the performance the finished part must deliver, rather than for recycled content alone.

Can LFT Lighten Parts?

Lightweighting was the second recurring theme, especially for parts where lower mass can improve handling, efficiency, or ease of assembly without giving up structural function. The long-fiber network continues to carry load, while the foamed cells reduce density. That combination explains why a lighter part can still be a practical structural choice, provided the design, grade, and process are matched to the load case.

This approach was validated by a U.S. customer, with no percentage, name, or part disclosed, and it must be tested for each part, grade, and setup. A trial therefore remains the right next step before any lightweighting benefit is claimed for a specific application.

Can LFT Add UV and Heat Resistance?

Outdoor and high-temperature use raised the third question, because a part that looks right on delivery must also keep its appearance and function over time. Stabilizers slow degradation, but the result depends on additive type, dosage, and test conditions. That is why a general claim is not enough: the exposure, temperature range, and service life should be defined before a grade is chosen.

In practice, not every generic grade already has UV or heat performance, so request the specific functional grade and its test data. That check protects the design, because it ties the material choice to evidence for the conditions the part will actually face.

Samples on display included 40% LGF and LCF grades across PP, PA6, PA66, PA12, PPA, and PPS, as shown on the sample labels.

Missed Fakuma? How to Follow Up

If you missed the show, the conversation does not have to wait for the next exhibition. Send the information below, and the LFT-G team can review your application, recommend a suitable grade, and discuss the next step toward a trial.

  • Your part application and a product photo, so the team can see how the part is used and where strength or function matters most.
  • Your current material and its datasheet, so the comparison starts from a known baseline rather than a general assumption.
  • Your target performance, including the loads, environment, and service conditions the part must meet.

From that information, LFT-G will recommend a grade, discuss a trial sample, and confirm whether a functional formulation is needed. That sequence keeps the follow-up practical: a grade first, a trial to test it, and a formulation decision based on the result.

Xiamen LFT Composite Plastic Co., Ltd. (LFT-G) specializes in long fiber reinforced thermoplastics, including long glass fiber and long carbon fiber compounds, for structural and functional parts.
