Recently, Professor Wu Shiwei of the Department of Physics, Fudan University, and Associate Professor of the Changchun Institute of Optics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Cheng Jinluo, Professor Zeng Changjun of the University of Science and Technology of China, Professor Liu Kaihui of Peking University, and Professor JE Sipe of the University of Toronto, Canada, realized graphene by ion gel technology. The electrical regulation and enhancement effects of the third-order nonlinear and four-wave mixing nonlinear optical phenomena are revealed by theoretical derivation.

At the same time, this research has produced the first electro-optic device based on the third-order nonlinear optical effect of graphene in the world, and the electrical regulation ratio can reach several orders of magnitude. In view of the significant breakthrough in the production of graphene in large-area low-cost growth in recent years, this electro-optic control mechanism is expected to provide a high-end application of the killer level for the graphene industry.
