LGF30 PBT Engineering Material
What is LGF30 PBT?
LGF30 PBT is a high-performance engineering plastic composite material made from polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) as the base resin, through a long glass fiber reinforcement process. The material contains 30% glass fibers, and the fiber length is typically maintained within the range of 5-25mm. After injection molding, it can still retain a relatively long effective fiber length, thereby forming a three-dimensional reinforced framework structure.

Long Glass Fiber (Long Glass Fiber)
Advantage of long fiber reinforcement
The long glass fibers form a continuous load transmission network within the material:
Excellent dimensional stability
Good heat resistance
Low water absorption rate
Excellent electrical insulation performance
Good chemical resistance
Easy processing and molding
High intensity
High modulus
Fatigue resistance
Significant cost advantage
Improves long-term usage stability
Higher stress transfer efficiency
Better impact energy absorption
More excellent creep resistance
Lower shrinkage rate
Higher dimensional stability
LGF30 PBT: Core Advantage
-
High intensity: LGF30 PBT can significantly enhance the load-bearing capacity of the material.
-
Excellent impact resistance: Compared to short-fiber PBT, the impact strength has been significantly enhanced, and the low-temperature impact performance is more stable, with less prone to brittle fractures.
-
Excellent dimensional stability: The PBT material itself has a low water absorption rate. After being reinforced with long glass fibers, its shrinkage rate is even lower, the warping deformation is smaller, and the tolerance control is more stable.
-
Excellent heat resistance: Long-term working temperature range is 120℃ to 150℃, and short-term heat resistance temperature can exceed 180℃.
-
Excellent fatigue life: The long glass fiber continuous framework structure can effectively disperse cyclic loads. Compared with ordinary GF PBT, the fatigue life is significantly improved, and the long-term performance is more stable.

LGF30 PBT combines the excellent dimensional stability, electrical insulation, and chemical resistance of PBT resin, while achieving higher strength, rigidity, impact resistance, and fatigue life through a 30% long glass fiber reinforcement technology. Compared to traditional GF30 PBT, it performs better in terms of structural performance, warpage control, and long-term reliability, making it an ideal material for high-performance lightweight structural components in the automotive, electrical and electronic, and industrial equipment industries.
FAQ
Q: What are the differences between LGF30 PBT and GF30 PBT?
A: GF30 PBT (short fiber) fibers are shorter and have more obvious anisotropic properties. LGF30 PBT (long fiber) fibers are longer and form a continuous force-bearing network. LGF30 PBT significantly outperforms GF30 PBT in terms of strength, impact resistance, and fatigue life.
Q: Is the LGF30 PBT material highly absorbent?
A: Not high. The PBT itself has a very low water absorption rate. Moreover, after being reinforced with long glass fibers, its dimensional stability is even better, and its performance changes are minimal in a humid and hot environment. Therefore, it is more suitable for precision structural components.
Q: Why does the LGF30 PBT undergo warping deformation during injection molding?
A: The warping of LGF30 PBT is usually caused by uneven orientation of long glass fibers + uneven cooling + mold design. The gate position can be optimized to reduce unidirectional flow, while increasing the mold temperature and maintaining a uniform wall thickness design.
