Material Description
LFT-G® is a long fiber reinforced thermoplastic material suitable for injection, compression and extrusion molding.Retention of fiber length in the finished product is performance critical, and high shear is reduced by proper design of the mold and use of check valves, etc. Glass fibers are continuous in the pellet and provide excellent performance when properly molded.
Injection Molding Guideline
Generally use round runners with a minimum diameter of 5-6MM and no maximum upper limit on gate size. Shorten the sprue and taper to the gate, use large sprues and straight glue spouts. It is recommended that no more than 3-5% of recycled material be added to the molding process to reduce performance and performance degradation. The injection molding machine should be rinsed with polyethylene or polypropylene before shutting down, and long glass products should not be left in the feed cylinder.
