PP (polypropylene) is one of the general plastic materials with large output, and low price, at the same time has excellent comprehensive performance, good chemical stability, and better processing performance. However, PP strength is not high, use temperature is not high, low hardness, low-temperature impact resistance, and other shortcomings, seriously limit its application field. Therefore, engineers by adding glass fiber, calcium carbonate, and other reinforcing materials in PP, and when the glass fiber length exceeds the critical size, the mechanical properties have been dramatically improved!
Under this background, LFT-PP (long fiber reinforced PP) came into being. At present, LDT-PP has been widely used in automobiles, power tools, home appliances, and water treatment components. However, different fields have different requirements for LDT-PP. Below, we will briefly introduce the following 8 kinds of LDT-PP:
1. LFT-PP - general grade
This kind of LFT-PP reinforcement material is mainly long glass fiber material, without other additives. The content of long glass fiber is generally 20-60%, and the thermal deformation temperature is above 147℃ (the higher the content of long glass fiber, the higher the thermal deformation temperature, the higher the low-temperature impact strength).
Main features: chemical coupling, high strength, reference length 8mm, 11mm, 20mm;
Application products: automobile parts, washing machine parts, water pump parts, water treatment parts, home, etc
2. LFT-PP - heat-resistant grade
The content of this kind of LFT-PP long glass fiber is generally 20-50%, and the thermal deformation temperature is above 152℃ (the higher the content of long glass fiber, the higher the thermal deformation temperature).
Main features: high strength, long-term heat-resistant aging performance (150℃×1000h, 140℃×1000h), reference length 8mm, 11mm, 20mm;
Application products: automobile front and rear end modules, battery support, hood shell, water tank frame, skylight frame, etc.
3. LFT- PP - UV resistant grade
UV (ultraviolet) resistance LFT-PP long glass fiber content is generally 20-50%, with thermal deformation temperature above 152℃.
Main features: high strength, UV resistance, long-term heat aging resistance, good product appearance, reference length of 8mm, 11mm, 20mm;
Application products: automobile (truck) door handle, rearview mirror system, battery shell, truck (SUV) pedal, etc.
4. LFT-PP - heat water-resistant grade
Long-term heat-resistant water LDT-PP long glass fiber content is generally 15% and 20%, with thermal deformation temperature above 146℃.
Main features: high strength, good heat-resistant water/detergent performance, long-term heat-resistant oxygen aging performance, reference length of 8mm, 10mm, and 12mm;
Application products: washing machine parts, dryer parts, etc.
5. LFT-PP - low odor, low TVOC
TVOC is short for total volatile organic compounds. Under the increasingly strict requirements of in-car air management, LDT-PP with low odor and low TVOC has great advantages in automotive interior decoration.
Main features: high strength, low odor, low TVOC, reference length 8mm, 10mm, 12mm;
Application products: automotive instrument panel (IP) frame, inner door panel, center control panel bracket, glove box cover plate, airbag bracket, rear and tail plate, etc.
6. LFT-PP - low warpage
PP is easy to warp after adding glass fiber. When injection molding products require high size, ultra-low warp LVT-PP can be considered.
Main features: ultra-low warpage, high strength, reference length 8mm, 10mm, 20mm;
Application products: automotive inner door panel, glove box cover plate, air conditioning fan, and other products requiring dimensional stability.
7. LFT-PP - halogen-free flame retardant
Halogen-free flame retardant LFT-PP long glass fiber content is generally 20% and 30%, mainly used in contact with electricity, and open flame products.
Main features: high strength, halogen-free flame retardant, high GWIT, high CTI, reference length 8mm, 10mm, 12mm;
Application products: wire shell, coil frame, building materials electrical socket, public place seat, etc.
8. LFT-PP - toughen resistant grade
Toughen-resistant grade LFT-PP long glass fiber content is generally 20% and 30%, mainly for large vibration, vulnerable to stress impact products designed.
Main features: Ultra-high impact strength (at room temperature and low humidity), reference length of 8mm, 10mm, 12mm;
Application products: power tools, pump housing, pipe fittings, etc.
