According to foreign media, INEOS said on July 3 that the company will invest 2.7 billion euros to build a new ethane cracker and a set of propane dehydrogenation (PDH) units in northern Europe. This will be the first cracker built in the northern European region over the past 20 years and the largest investment in the history of the company. The location of the cracker and PDH unit is unclear, but INEOS has invested heavily in ethane logistics at Grangemouth, Scotland, and Rafnes, Norway, at the cracker site.
