Casio Computer Co., Ltd. announced a new addition to the G-Shock G Series Master shock-proof watch portfolio designed for use in the most extreme conditions. The new MUDMASTER GWG-2000, the first G-Shock to use forged carbon fiber, is lightweight but powerful. For the first time in the G-Shock series, the new GWG-2000 uses aircraft and racing car materials to forge carbon fiber.
Forged carbon fiber is a special carbon fiber reinforced resin that is lighter than stainless steel but has superior tensile strength. Forged carbon fiber can be pressed into a variety of complex shapes and used to connect the ends of the ring to the lugs of the watch band, protecting the surface structurally.
Forging carbon fiber is made by kneading the fine particles of carbon fiber into resin and then forging them in a press die under high temperature and pressure. The fine carbon particles on the surface can be seen from certain angles, forming a random pattern of black and grey, which is not only attractive to look at, but also special.
The watch also features a newly developed mud resistant button. The combination of stainless steel pushbutton tube and internal silicone buffer material not only absorbs shock, but also provides a tight seal, ensuring superior dust and mud resistance.
The case is made from a lightweight, durable carbon fiber reinforced resin. The watch has been rearranged in materials and construction, with a case 1.9 millimeters thinner than the previous model. The strap is inspired by professional equipment, the texture is the non-slip rubber grip style found on professional vehicles and heavy machinery, and the buttons are edged for better control, making this watch a versatile and powerful tool. The GWG-2000 comes in three colors: monochrome gray, dark green khaki and beige.
