BYD cooperated with American Hybrid Corporation to develop hydrogen fuel cell buses. The bus will serve Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu, USA, with an annual passenger flow of more than 21 million passengers.

The development of the new passenger car is attributed to the Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative, which aims to meet sustainable energy goals, reduce dependence on imported oil and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Hawaii plans to fully realize the application of renewable energy in the transportation sector in 2045.
