On July 2, the second phase of the launch of the Arkema China R&D Center for specialty chemicals manufacturers was held in Changshu, Jiangsu. The Arkema Changshu R&D Center specializes in innovative markets and solutions for automotive, transportation, adhesives, new energy, water treatment, coatings and electronics. The second phase of the R&D Center has added composite-related facilities dedicated to the development of cutting-edge technologies for thermoplastic composites. These carbon fiber or glass fiber based thermoplastic composites and Arkema's proprietary technical polymers (such as Elium® resin) are used in the wind, automotive and aerospace markets. The Arkema Changshu R&D Center has also added new facilities to treat wastewater and waste gas, in line with current social expectations for sustainable development in China.
