LFT-G® PP GF20 FR (Model: LFT-G®CPP-LGF20FR) is a specialized safety-grade composite featuring 20% long glass fiber reinforcement within a Copolymer Polypropylene matrix, engineered to meet stringent UL94 V0 flammability standards.

In the world of engineering plastics, adding flame retardants often degrades mechanical strength, making standard short-fiber FR-PP brittle and prone to cracking. LFT-G® solves this dilemma by utilizing Long Glass Fiber (LGF) technology. The skeletal fiber network (10-12mm length) compensates for the loss of strength caused by FR additives, delivering a material that is both fire-resistant and structurally robust.

Q: Does Flame Retardant (FR) additive reduce the strength of PP GF20?

A: Generally yes, but LFT mitigates this. Adding large amounts of FR agents typically makes standard short-fiber PP brittle. However, LFT-G® uses 20% Long Glass Fibers to reinforce the matrix, creating a composite that retains significantly higher impact and tensile strength compared to standard FR-PP.

Q: What is the difference between UL94 V0, V1, and V2?

A: V0 is the highest safety rating. In vertical burn tests, V0 stops burning within 10 seconds with no dripping of flaming particles. V1 stops within 30 seconds. V2 also stops within 30 seconds but allows flaming drips (which can spread fire). Our LFT-G® LGF20FR is rated V0 for maximum safety.
