Long Glass Fiber Reinforced Polypropylene

LFT-G® Long glass fiber reinforced polypropylene (LGFPP) is a high-performance thermoplastic composite material with excellent mechanical properties. It is a composite material made from polypropylene (PP) and long glass fibers.

The long glass fibers used in LFT-G® LGFPP are typically 5-25 mm in length and are unidirectionally aligned in the polymer matrix. The orientation and distribution of the fibers play a critical role in determining the mechanical properties of LGFPP.
 

The production of LGFPP involves melt blending of the polypropylene matrix with the long glass fibers. This produces a composite material with a high fiber content (typically 20-60% by weight) and excellent mechanical properties.

LFT-G® LGFPP has several advantages over traditional reinforced plastics. It is lightweight, has a high strength-to-weight ratio, and is resistant to corrosion and chemicals. Additionally, it has good dimensional stability and is easy to mold and shape.
