Overview of CPP‑LGF40AR Production

CPP-LGF40AR manufacturing

Introduction

CPP‑LGF40AR pellets are manufactured using a high‑precision continuous impregnation line, ensuring uniform fiber dispersion and consistent mechanical properties. The weathering additive package is integrated during compounding to provide long‑term UV and thermal protection. Here is our core production flow:

Step‑by‑Step Process

1. Fiber Roving Preparation: High‑quality E‑glass rovings are unwound and tension‑controlled for uniform spread, critical for achieving a consistent 40% fiber loading.

2. Polymer Melting & Additive Blending: PP resin, heat/UV stabilizers, and coupling agents are melted and homogenized in a twin‑screw extruder.

3. Impregnation (Core Step): The molten PP fully saturates the glass fibers in a proprietary impregnation die, ensuring complete wet‑out and optimal fiber‑matrix adhesion.

4. Pulling, Cooling & Stranding: The impregnated strand is pulled through a cooling bath to solidify the composite, preserving the critical 6‑25 mm fiber length.

5. Granulation: The cooled strand is cut into uniform 11‑12 mm pellets, ready for packaging and downstream processing.

Key Application Fields

Automotive Exterior & Underbody Shields

Automotive Exterior & Underbody Shields

Engineered for engine under‑covers, wheel arch liners, and battery protection shields, PP‑LGF40 provides outstanding impact resistance and dimensional stability even after years of exposure to road salts, gravel, and temperature swings. Its long‑fiber reinforcement prevents sagging and warpage, while the weathering package ensures color retention and structural integrity over the vehicle's lifetime.

FAQ

Q: What makes CPP‑LGF40AR different from standard PP‑LGF30 grades?

A: CPP‑LGF40AR incorporates a proprietary stabilization system that delivers superior resistance to UV, heat, and moisture aging. It retains over 90% of its initial mechanical properties after extended outdoor exposure, while standard grades can lose up to 40% of their strength.

Q: What is the continuous service temperature range for this compound?

A: CPP‑LGF40AR is designed for continuous use from -40°C to 120°C, with short‑term peak temperatures up to 150°C. Its heat deflection temperature (HDT) at 1.82 MPa is approximately 145°C, making it suitable for under‑hood and high‑ambient applications.

Q: Is CPP‑LGF40AR suitable for food‑contact applications?

A: While the base PP resin is food‑grade compliant, the specific additive package is designed for industrial applications. For food‑contact requirements, we can offer a customized version with approved stabilizers – please contact our technical team for more details.
