Long fiber materials are generally divided into two types: long glass fibers and long carbon fibers. PBT (Polybutylene terephthalate) is a high-performance engineering plastic with excellent mechanical properties, chemical resistance, electrical insulation, heat resistance and processing performance.

What is long glass fiber PBT material? Long glass fiber reinforced Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) composites are a high-performance composite material made by adding longer glass fibers (usually 5-25mm in length, much longer than the 1mm of short glass fibers) to the PBT matrix. The addition of long glass fibers significantly enhances the mechanical strength, impact resistance and fatigue resistance of PBT, while retaining its original chemical resistance, electrical insulation and processing performance, enabling it to withstand higher tests.

Q: What is the chemical resistance of long glass fiber PBT material?

A: It is resistant to weak acids, weak bases, oils and alcohol, but not to strong acids (such as concentrated sulfuric acid) and strong bases (such as sodium hydroxide). It has good stability in gasoline and engine oil and is suitable for automotive fuel circuit components.

Q: What are the special requirements for injection molding machines and molds of long glass fiber PBT materials?

A: Special screws are required (to avoid excessive shearing of glass fiber), wear-resistant die steel, and a large runner design (to reduce flow resistance). The gate size needs to be larger than that of short glass fiber materials.
