LFT Material Long Carbon Fiber TPU Pellet
What is TPU Carbon Fiber?

Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) is a kind of high-molecular material that combines the elasticity of rubber and the processing performance of plastic, and is hailed as the "closest to perfect" engineering elastomer. It not only retains the high resilience and wear resistance of traditional rubber, but also can be rapidly formed through injection molding, extrusion and other processes like plastic, and is widely used in high-end fields such as shoe materials, electronics, automobiles and medical care.
Long carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is a high-performance composite material composed of continuous long carbon fibers (the length is generally between 5-25mm) and a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) matrix. It combines the high strength and high modulus of carbon fiber with the elasticity and wear resistance of TPU, and is widely used in fields that require lightweight and high mechanical performance.
What is the lifespan of TPU Pellet?
The service life of TPU materials ranges from one year to over 20 years, depending on the application environment. Daily consumer goods such as phone cases can usually be used for 2 to 5 years. Industrial seals can last for 5 to 10 years. Automobile parts can last for 7 to 15 years. Environmental factors have a significant impact: Ultraviolet rays can cause unprotected TPU to age within 1 to 3 years, and a humid environment will accelerate the hydrolysis of polyester-based TPU. The service life can be prolonged by measures such as adding UV inhibitors and selecting polyether-based TPU. The lifespan of long carbon fiber TPU material has been extended on this basis due to the addition of carbon fibers.
What are the Advantages of CF TPU?

Long carbon fiber TPU material combines the high strength of carbon fiber and the elasticity of TPU material, and is a high-performance composite material with some remarkable characteristics.
High strength and high rigidity
The addition of long carbon fibers significantly enhances the tensile strength of the material, increasing the elastic modulus several times over, which is far superior to pure TPU or short carbon fiber reinforced TPU materials. It is suitable for structural components that require high load-bearing capacity, such as car brackets and sports equipment.
Lightweight
With a density of only 1.0-1.7g/cm³, it is lighter than aluminum alloy while maintaining high strength, making it an ideal choice for weight reduction design.
Excellent impact resistance and fatigue resistance
Long carbon fibers can effectively disperse stress, absorb impact energy and prevent brittle fracture. It performs exceptionally well under repeated loads (such as sports equipment and mechanical components) and has a longer lifespan.
Design flexibility and environmental adaptability
It can be formed through injection molding, extrusion and other processes, and is suitable for complex shapes. The fiber orientation can be regulated to achieve performance optimization in specific directions (such as unidirectional reinforcement).
Low-temperature resistant (still flexible at low temperatures), and some models can withstand high temperatures (up to 100℃ for a short period of time). It has good UV resistance (stabilizers need to be added) and weather resistance.

FAQ
Q: Is TPU similar to polyurethane?
A: TPU, or thermoplastic polyurethane, is a broad classification of polyurethane polymers that share properties such as elasticity, wear resistance, and very high chemical compatibility with oils.
Q: Is CF TPU stronger than plastic?
A: At present, TPU has been widely used in medical treatment, electronics, industry, and sports. It has the characteristics of high strength, good toughness, wear resistance, cold resistance, oil resistance, water resistance, aging resistance and climate resistance unmatched by other plastic materials.
Q: How long will TPU last?
A: TPU materials has a long shelf life if stored properly in a cool, dry place with minimal exposure to moisture or UV light. Depending on factors such as exposure to sunlight, chemicals, or physical wear.
