LFT-G® HPP-LCF30B | The High-Modulus Rigid PP CF30 (Homo-PP)

LFT-G® 30% Long Carbon Fiber PP (Homo Grade)

LFT-G® HPP-LCF30B - High Modulus Carbon PPWhile Copolymer PP is known for toughness, Homopolymer PP (Homo-PP) is the king of stiffness and heat resistance. LFT-G® HPP-LCF30B leverages this rigid matrix reinforced with 30% Long Carbon Fiber to create a material that offers maximum structural stability.

This "High Modulus" grade utilizes cost-effective Domestic Carbon Fiber to deliver exceptional performance without the high price tag. With a flexural modulus exceeding 16,000 MPa, it resists creep (deformation under load) significantly better than Copo-PP or Glass Fiber grades, making it ideal for high-speed rotating parts and precision frames that must hold tight tolerances under heat.

  • √ Maximum Static Stiffness: The Homo-PP matrix provides higher crystallinity, resulting in a harder surface and greater resistance to bending under sustained loads.
  • √ Ultra-Lightweight (1.12 g/cm³): Replaces aluminum and zinc die-castings, reducing part weight by 50% while offering sufficient rigidity for non-impact structural parts.
  • √ Electrical Conductivity: The 30% carbon network provides excellent EMI shielding and static dissipation (ESD), protecting sensitive electronics.
  •

Homo-PP vs. Copo-PP: Heat Rigidity

At elevated temperatures (80°C+), Homopolymer PP holds its shape better.

Processing Information

The following values are recommendations. We recommend desiccant / dry air dryers (moisture content below 0.1%).

Homo-PP is more heat resistant; slight increases in mold temperature improve surface finish.

Parameter Recommendation
Drying Temperature 80 - 100 °C
Drying Time 2 - 3 hours
Melt Temperature (Nozzle ③) 230 - 260 °C
Mold Temperature (Zone ②) 50 - 80 °C
Back Pressure Low (to minimize fiber damage)

Case Study: Industrial Centrifugal Fan Impeller

Large centrifugal fan impeller made of LFT Homo-PP Carbon

Large diameter industrial fan (600mm). Moves hot air (80°C). Must not deform (creep) to maintain aerodynamic efficiency.

Aerodynamic Efficiency Report

The Problem (Copo-PP GF30):
At 80°C, the Copo-PP blades "crept" (bent) under centrifugal force. Airflow efficiency dropped by 15% after 1 month.
The Solution (LFT-G® HPP-LCF30B):
  • Rigidity: Homo-PP base maintained stiffness at 80°C. Zero blade deformation.
  • Weight: 30% lighter than aluminum, allowing faster motor spin-up.
  • Safety: Carbon fiber dissipated static, preventing dust explosion risks in grain silos.

Textile Swing Arms

Fast-moving parts in looms. High modulus reduces deflection, ensuring precise thread placement at high speeds.

Electronic Trays

ESD safe handling trays. Homo-PP resists warping during high-temperature washing cycles better than Copo-PP.

People Also Ask (Google PAA)

1. What is the difference between Homo-PP and Copo-PP carbon fiber?

A: It comes down to Stiffness vs. Toughness. Homo-PP (Homopolymer) is highly crystalline, offering higher stiffness and better heat resistance (deflection temp). Copo-PP (Copolymer) has rubbery blocks for better impact resistance but is slightly softer. Choose HPP-LCF30B (Homo) for fans and structural frames; choose Copo for car bumpers.

2. Is 30% Carbon Fiber PP conductive?

A: Yes. At 30% loading, the carbon fibers form a conductive network. LFT-G® HPP-LCF30 typically has a surface resistivity of 103 - 10⁴ Ω/sq. This provides excellent EMI/RFI shielding for electronics and Anti-Static (ESD) properties for industrial environments, eliminating the need for conductive paints.

3. Which is better: GF50 or CF30?

A: CF30 (Carbon) wins on weight. While 50% Glass Fiber (GF50) might match the stiffness of 30% Carbon Fiber (CF30), the Carbon part will be 30-40% lighter (1.12 g/cm³ vs 1.50 g/cm³). For moving parts like drone arms or robot effectors, Carbon Fiber is the superior choice to reduce inertia and energy consumption.
