What is long glass fibre?
Long glass fibers are a strong, high ductility fiber reinforcement solution that is often used in metal replacement applications due to its high strength, low specific gravity and the attractiveness of injection molding processing methods.Long glass fibre composite (LGF composite) is a type of composite material that is increasingly gaining popularity in various industries due to its superior strength and durability properties.
This composite material is made by combining glass fibers that are relatively long and continuous with a thermoplastic matrix material. The resulting composite material has superior mechanical properties, including high tensile, compressive and flexural strength, as well as enhanced stiffness and impact resistance, compared to short or chopped glass fibre composite materials.
What's benefit of long glass fibre composite?

One important characteristic of long glass fibre composite is its high fiber volume fraction. This means that the amount of glass fibers used in the composite material is relatively high, typically ranging between 30% and 60%. This high fiber volume fraction gives the long glass fibre composite material its high strength and toughness, as the fibers act as the load-bearing component of the composite material, while the matrix material serves to hold the fibers in place and transfer the load across the whole material.
