The relative density of PA12 is 1.02g/cm3, which is low in nylon products; because of its low amide group content, the water absorption rate is 0.25%, which is also low in nylon. The thermal decomposition temperature of PA12 is greater than 350 ° C, and the long-term use temperature is 80-90 ° C. The PA12 film has good airtightness and a water vapor transmission rate of 9 g/m2.


PA12 is resistant to alkali, oil, yeast and inorganic dilute acids and aromatic hydrocarbons. Therefore, PA12 is widely used in automotive piping systems, such as multi-layer fuel piping systems, vacuum brake booster tubes, hydraulic clutch tubes, and central lubrication system piping. It can also be used for inner tube repair of industrial pipeline repair, as well as contact exhibition; industrial pipeline system for corrosive chemicals.


PA12 has good anti-noise effect, is ideal for optical fiber sheathing, and is resistant to termites and mice, and is also an excellent material for cable sheathing.


PA12's high toughness and high strength provide higher burst pressure resistance. It can be used as medium pressure natural gas delivery pipe. It is now used in the United States, Western Europe, etc. PA12 natural gas pipe can withstand higher working pressure than polyethylene (PE) pipe. temperature. The PA12 natural gas transmission pipeline can withstand pressures of 0.8 to 1.7 MPa below 80 °C, which can replace steel pipes in this range and is more competitive than polyolefin materials.


PA12 is not compatible with most other plastic compounds. Even a small amount of other resin plastic contamination causes turbid melt and finished parts. Therefore, before the start of the work, the plasticizing unit of the processing machine and all other melt channels should be cleaned very carefully. The material of the PA12 recycled material must be free of foreign matter and dust particles, and the moisture content should be less than 0.1% by weight. A small amount of polymer, or even other polyamides, in addition to the same PA12 level, can cause turbidity of the corresponding molded part. If immediate waste disposal is not possible, the gate or defective part should be ground and stored in a moisture barrier bag, which can be reused after careful drying.


The amount of recycled material added to the original PA12 material generally depends on the desired portion of the performance, so the molded part must be prepared by testing. If the abrasive material used allows the end user's requirements and specifications, it is possible to add 25% by weight of recycled material. In some cases, such as thick-walled profile extrusion, injection molded thick walls and high surface quality of optical components or components, the particles should be pre-dried at any rate to prevent moisture from streaking or uneven surfaces from forming.
