PA12 [poly-dodecanolactam] performance:
Crystalline thermoplastic plastic with obvious melting point. Nylon itself has water absorption and therefore absorbs water. It must be dried before forming. When the temperature is too high, the nylon particles are discolored.
Advantages of PA12[polydolactam]:
1. High tensile strength 2. Excellent resistance to toughness and impact resistance 3. Self-lubricating, good abrasion resistance and excellent chemical resistance 4. Good low temperature characteristics 5. Self-extinguishing
PA12 [poly-dodecanolactam] disadvantages:
Nylon has high hygroscopicity, long-term dimensional precision and physical properties are affected.
Introduction:
The scientific name of PA12 is poly-dodelactam, also known as nylon 12. The basic raw material for its polymerization is butadiene, which can depend on petrochemicals. It is a semi-crystalline-crystalline thermoplastic. Its characteristics are similar to those of PA11, but the crystal structure is different. PA12 is a good electrical insulator and, like other polyamides, does not affect insulation properties due to moisture. It has good impact resistance and chemical stability. PA12 has many improved varieties in terms of plasticizing properties and reinforcing properties. Compared to PA6 and PA66, these materials have a lower melting point and density and have a very high moisture regain. PA12 is not resistant to strong oxidizing acids. The viscosity of PA12 is mainly determined by humidity, temperature and storage time. It is very fluid. The shrinkage is between 0.5% and 2%, depending on the material type, wall thickness and other process conditions. PA12 Polyamide 12 or nylon 12 Typical applications: water gauges and other commercial equipment, electric sleeves, mechanical cams, sliding mechanisms , photovoltaic backplanes and bearings, etc.
