PBT has rapid crystallization properties, polyamide also has a relatively high crystallization rate and relatively close melting point, and has excellent resistance to dissolution and excellent mechanical properties. The main difference between the two materials is that the hygroscopicity of PBT is lower than that of polyamide, the water absorption of PBT24h is 0.08%, and that of polyamide 6 is 1.6%. The properties of the polyamide change with humidity, the modulus and strength are reduced, and the impact strength is improved. Even in some cases, the polyamide article may exhibit additional swelling. Therefore, designers of polyamide products must consider the influence of environmental factors on the performance of the product. In comparison, PBT has low hygroscopicity, and the product size and mechanical properties related to environmental factors rarely change, showing better weather resistance.
