US uses 3D printing to significantly shorten blade mold production cycle

Sandia’s partnership with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the leader in 3D printing, and TPI Composites, the nation’s largest wind turbine blade manufacturer, has demonstrated that this time has been reduced to three months. Sandia used 3D printing technology to directly print digital design solutions into molds, shortening the time of more than a year.
