HCS, a well-known graphene company and a subsidiary of London-listed HGI, announced that its graphene-based strong conductive carbon fiber composites have good resistance to serious lightning strikes.

HCS has evaluated the mechanical properties of the modified materials, and the results demonstrate that performance can be maintained or improved by the addition of specific nanoparticles. Particular attention is paid to matrix-dominated properties such as in-plane and inter-layer shear. An improvement of 16%-20% has been recorded in the measured modulus while maintaining the strength of the material.
