The LFT Advantage: Why Long Fiber Outperforms Short Fiber
When selecting a "PP GF50" material, understanding the difference between long glass fiber (LGF) and short glass fiber (SGF) is critical. While both contain 50% glass reinforcement, their performance is vastly different.
In conventional SGF composites, the short fibers act as simple fillers, offering a moderate increase in stiffness. In our LFT-G® technology, the long fibers are preserved during injection molding to create a robust, three-dimensional **internal glass fiber skeleton**. This interwoven network is the key to superior performance:
- Drastically Higher Impact Strength: The long fiber network absorbs and distributes impact energy across the entire part, preventing crack propagation. This results in components that are far tougher and more durable than their SGF counterparts, especially in cold environments.
