LFT LGF PP reinforced thermoplastic raw plastic pellet have 10-25 mm. long glass fiber reinforced Polypropylene polymers have higher strength, stiffness, toughness, as well as good dimensional stability and low warpage compared to the common 4-7 mm short glass fiber reinforced polymers. In addition, LGFPP materials have better creep resistance than short glass fiber reinforced PP (GFPP) and do not produce significant creep even when subjected to high temperatures of 100°C.

About PP LGF FR Flame Resistance No Halogen Material

PP is the largest polymer material used in automotive plastics, with excellent chemical corrosion resistance, simple processing process, low cost. At present, it is widely used in automobile instrument panel, battery pack shell, door guard, column, seat guard, bumper and so on.
However, due to the poor flame retardant performance of PP without adding flame retardant, its LOI is only 17.8%, which is very easy to burn.

Currently, the main applicable to flame retardant PP for adding flame retardant agent, used more phosphorus-containing flame retardants, such as bromine flame retardants, bromine - antimony association effect flame retardant system), inorganic filler flame retardant agent (such as magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide), phosphorus and nitrogen system (e.g., MPP, APP, MCA, phosphorus nitriles, phosphate, etc.) as well as the expansion type flame retardant (IFR).

In combination with specific cases, there have been examples of LGF enhanced halogen-free flame retardant polypropylene battery cells prepared by using PP as matrix, LGF as filling material and adding MCA, etc. LGF masterbatch and halogen-free flame retardant masterbatch were prepared by double masterbatch method. The flame retardant PP products were made by injection molding after mixed evenly. The double masterbatch preparation method avoids the degradation of flame retardants and the degradation of mechanical properties caused by short glass fiber length caused by high shear zone temperature caused by excessive shearing during the manufacture of long glass fiber masterbatch. In the halogen-free modification technology of flame retardant PP,IFR is regarded as one of the best development directions of halogen-free flame retardant PP because of its advantages of minimum influence on PP processing fluidity and low density, excellent flame retardant efficiency, less dosage, low smoke and non-toxic.
