Long glass fiber reinforced PP plastic refers to modified PP composites containing glass fibers of 10 to 25 mm in length, and after injection molding and other processes to form a three-dimensional structure of glass fiber length greater than 3.1 mm, the full name of Long Glass Fiber polypropylene, abbreviated as LGFPP. LGFPP is a long fiber-reinforced thermoplastic (LFT). From the material definition, LGFPP is a kind of LFT.
As an automotive module carrier material, this material not only can effectively improve the rigidity, impact strength, creep resistance and dimensional stability of products, but also can make complex automotive module products.
Long glass fiber reinforced PP particle form
Generally, LGFPP is a columnar particle with a length of 12 mm or 25 mm and a diameter of about 3mm. The pellets of about 12mm length are mainly used for injection molding, while the pellets of about 25 mm length are mainly used for compression molding. In these pellets, the glass fiber has the same length as the pellets, and the glass fiber content can vary from 20% to 70%, and the color of the pellets can be color-matched according to customer requirements.
- Automotive industry:
Application areas for LGFPP materials are automotive front-end modules, door modules, gearshift mechanisms, electronic accelerators, dashboard skeletons, cooling fans and frames, battery brackets, bumper brackets, underbody guards, sunroof frames, etc., for replacing reinforced PA or metal materials. The use of this material in these areas has been greatly promoted in Europe, with a current consumption of 20,000 MT/Year.
- Home Appliance Industry:
LFT LGFPP can be used in washing machine drums, washing machine triangular brackets, one brush machine drums, air conditioning fans, etc. It is used to replace short glass fibre reinforced PA, APS cargo metal materials.Xiamen LFT-G Company has sold nearly 400MT of HPP -50%LGF reinforcement materials for washing machine drum parts in the first half of 2022.
- Communication, electronics, electrical industry
LFT LGFPP is used in high precision connectors, ignition components, coil shafts, relay bases, microwave transformer coil holders/frames, electrical connectors, solenoid valve packages, scanner components, etc. in the communication electronics industry.
