LFT-G technique
Compared to conventional short glass fibre reinforced thermoplastic composites, LFT technology with its special screw, die and cutter design and infiltrant formulation can yield a live sheet of 12mm or more pellets with a fibre length comparable to the pellet length, allowing the glass fibre to have a longer glass fibre length in the final product.
With normal short fibre reinforcement, after the three processes of screw, injection port and flow in the mould cavity, the fibre length drops so much that the average fibre length in the final product is already less than 1mm, and therefore the help to the mechanical properties of the product is very limited. LFT technology, on the other hand, whether moulded or injection moulded, the average length of glass fibres within the final test product is still no less than 6mm, which greatly improves the mechanical properties of the product and therefore provides better impact and creep resistance and superior thermal resistance compared to staple fibre reinforced structural parts.
