Polyphenylene ether (PPO for short) is a thermoplastic general engineering plastic, which is the most popular type of engineering plastic alloy. It has the advantages of high rigidity, high heat resistance, difficult to burn, high strength and excellent electrical performance.
Compared with other general engineering plastics, its specific gravity is the lowest, water absorption is the lowest, dielectric strength is the highest, vitrification transition temperature is the highest, but PPO melt fluidity, solvent resistance and oxidation resistance is poor, cost is high, thermoplastic processing is difficult, so often need to expand its application range through modification.
