ABS LGF50 – 50% Long Glass Fiber Reinforced ABS

LFT-G® ABS-LGF50 • Injection molding grade • High rigidity, low warpage

 What is ABS LGF50 material?

LFT-G® PP LGF40: High-Impact 40% Long Glass Fiber Polypropylene (PP GF40 Alternative

ABS LGF50 (Long Glass Fiber 50%) is a high-flow acrylonitrile butadiene styrene compound reinforced with 50% long glass fiber. Unlike short-fiber grades, the continuous glass fiber architecture within each pellet creates an interconnected reinforcing skeleton that delivers outstanding rigidity, dimensional stability, and creep resistance across a broad temperature range, while maintaining excellent surface finish and low warpage.

 Main Features

 Superior Rigidity & Dimensional Stability

Exceptional stiffness and low warpage even in thin-walled, large-area parts.

 Low VOC & Low Odor

Engineered for closed-cabin environments. Meets automotive interior air quality requirements.

 Excellent Creep Resistance

Maintains dimensional accuracy under sustained static loads over extended periods.

 Design Flexibility & Processability

Excellent flowability for complex geometries. Easy to mold. Compatible with standard injection equipment.

Long Fiber vs Short Fiber: Who Has Better Performance?

LFT-G® ABS LGF50 consistently outperforms standard short-fiber ABS GF50 across every key performance metric – delivering superior strength, stiffness, impact toughness, creep resistance, and thermal stability. The long-fiber architecture ensures structural integrity under sustained load and demanding service conditions, making it the ideal choice for semi-structural applications where reliability and long-term dimensional accuracy are critical.

  •  Pre-drying

3–5 hrs @ 85–110°C
Moisture < 0.05% (dehumidifying dryer recommended).

  •  Melt & Mold

Melt 267–299°C • Mold 80–100°C
Use a low-shear screw, large gates (≥5 mm).

  •  Injection & Purge

Pressure 85–135 MPa • Purge with PE/PP before shutdown.
Do not leave long-fiber melt in barrel.

 Applications

Heavy-duty power tool housings

Heavy-duty power tool housings

ABS LGF50 is used in power tools such as electric drills, saw housings, and industrial handheld equipment. Its high stiffness and impact resistance help maintain structural integrity under vibration and repeated mechanical stress.

Industrial automation structural frames

Industrial automation structural frames

It is suitable for robotic arms, conveyor support parts, and automation equipment frames. The long glass fiber reinforcement improves load-bearing capacity and reduces deformation under continuous operating conditions.

Large-format mobility equipment componentsLarge-format mobility equipment components

ABS LGF50 is used in non-automotive mobility systems such as electric scooters, warehouse transport devices, and utility carts, where both lightweight structure and rigidity are required.

Consumer appliance structural skeletons LFT-GConsumer appliance structural skeletons

It is used in internal skeletons of appliances like air purifiers, large fans, and cleaning systems. The material provides dimensional stability for complex assemblies while supporting long-term housing strength.

FAQ

Q: Where is ABS LGF50 typically used in automotive applications?

A: LFT-G® ABS LGF50 is commonly applied in automotive structural and semi-structural components where higher rigidity and dimensional stability are required. Typical parts include seat structures, interior brackets, dashboard supports, and under-the-hood housings.

Q: What makes ABS LGF50 different from short glass fiber ABS?

A: Compared with short glass fiber ABS, LFT-G® ABS LGF50 uses longer fibers that form a more continuous internal reinforcement network. This structure significantly improves stiffness, creep resistance, and impact stability. It also reduces deformation during injection molding, especially in large or complex parts where dimensional accuracy is critical.

Q: Does ABS LGF50 perform well in large injection molded parts?

A: Yes. LFT-G® ABS LGF50 is designed for large and thin-walled injection molded parts that require low warpage and stable dimensions. Its reinforced fiber structure helps distribute internal stress more evenly, allowing better shape retention during cooling and long-term use, even in complex geometries.
