LFT-ABS-LGF40 Plastic
LGF40 ABS: What is It?
LGF40 ABS is a structural composite material based on ABS resin (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) reinforced with 40% long glass fiber.
Core Positioning:
Upgrading from "general-purpose plastic ABS" to "structural-grade engineered composite materials"
Targeting medium-to-high strength load-bearing and metal replacement applications
Significantly enhancing mechanical properties while maintaining ABS processability

LGF30 ABS Advantages
-
High rigidity and high strength: Compared to ordinary ABS, the rigidity is increased by approximately 2-4 times, and the bending resistance is significantly enhanced.
-
Excellent dimensional stability: Lower shrinkage rate under heat deformation, and less prone to deformation under long-term load.
-
Impact Resistance + Rigidity Balance: While maintaining the basic toughness of ABS, enhance the structural support capacity to avoid "brittle strengthening" (compared to mineral-filled systems)
-
Creep resistance: Minimal deformation under long-term loading conditions.
-
Metal substitution potential: In medium-load structures, it can replace aluminum alloys/die-cast parts, reducing weight and processing costs.

Processing and Forming Characteristics
Injection molding performance
- Still retains the processing fluidity of the ABS grade (but slightly decreases)
- Recommended for high-torque screw equipment
- Attention should be paid to the control of fiber orientation
Notes:
Fiber orientation leads to anisotropy
Mold opening design affects the distribution of strength
Avoid designing structures with overly thin walls

FAQ
Q: How does LGF30 ABS compare with standard ABS?
A: Compared with standard ABS, LGF30 ABS provides:
- Significantly higher stiffness and load-bearing capacity
- Much better resistance to deformation
- Improved structural integrity under long-term stress
It is no longer limited to housing or cosmetic parts, but can be used in load-bearing structural components.
Q: Can LGF30 ABS replace metal materials?
A: Yes, but within specific limits.
LGF30 ABS can replace metals such as aluminum or die-cast parts in:
- Medium-load structural frames
- Internal support brackets
- Non-high-temperature mechanical components
However, it is not suitable for high-heat, high-fatigue, or precision metal replacement applications.
Q: Can LGF30 ABS be used for appearance parts?
A: Generally, it is not recommended for high-gloss or visible aesthetic parts due to potential fiber exposure on the surface.
If used in exterior parts, secondary finishing processes such as painting or coating may be required.
LGF30 ABS falls between general engineering plastics and high-performance structural materials, and is a metal-replacement type of composite material.
