TPU 30%Long Glass Fiber composite material (LFT) has high strength, high rigidity, high dimensional stability, low warpage, long service life, creep resistance and other excellent properties, has been widely used in the automotive industry. Among them, TPU (alloy)/LFT composites can be widely used in automobile dashboards, bumpers, floors, front and door assemblies, and underbody protectors.
In general, harder plastics are more brittle. However, for long fiber composites, longer reinforcing fibers reverse this analogy. The higher aspect ratio of the fibrous reinforcement facilitates more efficient energy transfer between the polymer and the filaments at the time of the impact. Interwoven long-fiber networks also help eliminate these forces throughout the composite structure, rather than keeping them in one area. Long fiber reinforcements help the composite material resist cracking and prevent crack propagation by forming a strong internal fiber skeleton. Although long-fiber composites have excellent impact resistance, the design can allow higher failures under predictive loads, thereby preventing damaging forces from being transmitted to adjacent systems. Longer fiber lengths also reduce material fragmentation during failures.
