Distinction between linear and crosslinked polyphenylene sulfide PPS
The composition of PPS is different, the content of PPS polymer is low, the creep resistance and stress relaxation resistance are good. In addition, compared with linear PPS, diplomatically linked PPS has better relaxation and creep resistance.
Generally between 150℃~350℃ treatment will get molecular chain growth or branching PPS, namely linear PPS. And the heat treatment above 350℃ will appear the crosslinked structure PPS, namely the crosslinked type PPS.
As can be seen from the figure, the molecular backbone of linear PPS consists of benzene rings and sulfur atoms arranged alternately, and the structure is very well-organized. In the crosslinked PPS, sulfur ether bonds become sulfoxide and sulfoxide groups, or the benzene ring forms oxygen bridged or crosslinked with neighboring macromolecules.
As Characteristics .
From the structural point of view, linear PPS without crosslinking structure, on the one hand, its toughness will be greatly improved, on the other hand, it will have a good rheological property, easy to process. Linear PPS has higher modulus and higher toughness than crosslinked PPS.
That's the big difference bewteen them.
