Why LFT-G® PP Long Glass Fiber And Not The Short Glass Fiber PP?

Long glass fiber PP plastic refers to modified PP composites containing glass fibers with a length of 10 to 25 mm, after injection molding and other processes to form long glass fiber reinforced polypropylene composites with a length of glass fibers greater than 5 mm, abbreviated as LGFPP, one of the LFT process materials.

As a carrier material for automotive modules, LFT PP can not only effectively improve the rigidity, impact strength, creep resistance and dimensional stability of products, but also make complex automotive module products.

Then, Why is LFT-G® PP Long glass fiber and not the short glass fiber PP?

Long fiber PP has the following advantages over short fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites:

• Longer fiber length, which significantly improves the mechanical properties of the products.
• High specific stiffness and strength, good impact resistance, especially suitable for automotive parts.
• Improved creep resistance, good dimensional stability and high molding accuracy of parts.
• Excellent fatigue resistance.
• Better stability in high temperature and humid environment.
• Fibers can move relatively in the molding die during the molding process, with little fiber damage.

Where will long glass fiber reinforced PP be used?

Automotive Part & Industrials

Front end modules, door modules, gear shift mechanisms, electronic gas pedals, instrument panel skeletons, cooling fans and frames, battery trays, bumper brackets, underbody guards, sunroof frames, etc. are used as replacements for reinforced PA or metal materials.The use of LFT PP materials in these applications has been spreading considerably in the chemical industry globally, with a current consumption of 35,000 T/y.
