What is PP GF40?

LFT-G® NG04H PP GF40 is a 40% long glass fiber reinforced Polypropylene composite with natural grade Homo-polymer. This high-performance long glass fiber polypropylene is formulated by embedding a 40% weight concentration of precision-cut long glass fibers within a robust polypropylene homopolymer matrix. When injection molded, these fibers create a highly-oriented, interlocking internal framework, delivering a significant boost in mechanical properties and load-bearing capacity to the final component.

FAQ

Q: What is the primary difference between PP GF40 and PP?

A: The main difference is the glass fiber content. LFT-G® PP GF40 contains 40% long glass fiber by weight, compared to PP without glass fiber. This higher reinforcement level results in significantly increased strength, stiffness (modulus), and creep resistance, making PP GF40 ideal for more demanding structural applications where maximum rigidity is required.

Q: What is the density of PP GF40?

A: Based on our technical datasheet, LFT-G® PP GF40 has a specific gravity of approximately 1.22 g/cm³. This low density, combined with its exceptionally high mechanical properties, provides a best-in-class strength-to-weight ratio for lightweighting heavy metal components.
