LFT LGFPP is a high performance reinforced engineering material made from a polypropylene matrix filled with a certain percentage of long glass fibres using LFT-G preparation technology. In order to maintain the best performance of the compound material, the length of the fibres filled with polypropylene is generally kept at 10-12 mm. At this length, LFT LGFPP Long glass fibre reinforced polypropylene compound achieves the highest mechanical properties such as impact, toughness and rigidity.

Automotive gearshift mechanism:

The gearshift mechanism of automobiles mainly uses metal materials and short fiber nylon materials. At present, some international car models have tried to use long glass fiber reinforced polypropylene materials instead of short glass fiber nylon materials for the skeleton of the gearshift mechanism. Nylon material is easy to absorb water, and the water absorption rate of finished parts is generally above 0.7%. In the high temperature and high humidity environment, there is a risk of failure; if changed to long glass fiber polypropylene LFT material, which is not easy to absorb water, such problems can be avoided. At the same time, the use of (LFT& LFRT) long glass fiber reinforced PP material can play a role in weight reduction and cost reduction.

Electronic gas pedal:

Electronic gas pedal arm needs to withstand large forces, therefore, its choice of material needs to have excellent mechanical properties, good toughness, and the material properties should not have large changes in high and low temperatures. At present, the electronic accelerator pedal arm is mainly made of glass fiber reinforced PA material. Some international material suppliers have successfully used long glass fiber plastic (brand LFT-G PP-LGF40/50) for electronic gas pedal. LFT LGFPP material has good performance of low odor and high strength for electronic gas pedal, and lower cost than reinforced PA material.

LGFPP is compatible with BMW's automated monolithic foam injection moulding technology; it enables higher strength and stiffness to be achieved with less raw material and provides better performance of the instrument panel. LGFPP is currently used in the skeleton of the instrument panels of high-end vehicles such as the BMW 3/5/7 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E.
