What is Long Fiber LFT PA6?

LFT-G® PA6 LCF40, which is a type of polyamide reinforced with 40% long carbon fiber.PA6 LCF40 is also resistant to fatigue and has low thermal expansion. This makes it a great material for parts that are exposed to extreme temperatures or repetitive loading, such as aircraft wings or high-performance racing cars.

LFT materials have potential for both exterior and interior parts in the automotive industry, mainly for reasons of light weight and carbon footprint. Polypropylene materials are often considered for crash-related applications such as front ends, as well as structural components such as tailgates and seats, where mechanical and dimensional performance must be guaranteed along with good aesthetic appearance, low odor and low emissions. PA6-based LFT are often considered for high-strength functional parts that require better heat resistance.
