What is Long Fiber LFT PA6?

LFT-G® PA6 LCF40, which is a type of polyamide reinforced with 40% long carbon fiber.PA6 LCF40 is also resistant to fatigue and has low thermal expansion. This makes it a great material for parts that are exposed to extreme temperatures or repetitive loading, such as aircraft wings or high-performance racing cars.

LFT PA6 materials go a long way toward meeting two of today's critical needs - lightweighting and recyclability. mr Ren, Marketing Director of XIAMEN LFT-G®, says, "Due to the higher strength of LFT-modified materials, compared to short-fiber materials, LFT PA6 materials reduce the fiber content in the material without sacrificing strength, allowing for injection molded parts with smaller wall thicknesses, or lighter parts."

He added, "LFT materials also take into account the circular economy, which allows for the continued use of these materials at the end of a part's life. This is a huge incentive for industries to move from thermoset composites to LFT thermoplastic material processes."

Mr Ren says that the use of engineering plastics and alternative fiber reinforcements can increase the strength and temperature resistance of LFT PA6, thereby increasing the opportunities for metal substitution, while the ability to be injection molded provides greater part design freedom and eliminates the need for machining and finishing.
