LFT-G® 30% Long Glass Fiber Reinforced HDPE

Injection molding grade | High impact & chemical resistance

● What is HDPE LGF30 material?

PP LGF30: High-Flow 30% Long Glass Fiber Reinforced Polypropylene For Complex Structural Engineering

LFT-G® HDPE LGF30 is a long-glass-fiber reinforced polyethylene that upgrades standard HDPE with significantly higher stiffness, creep resistance, and dimensional stability-while keeping its core strengths: low moisture uptake, broad chemical inertness, and weatherability. The 30% long fiber network creates a durable internal skeleton, making it a drop-in replacement for metal or short-fiber compounds in demanding environments.

● Core Strength

🛡️Tough & durable

Absorbs impacts and repeated loads without brittle failure.

🧪Chemically inert

Withstands acids, alkalis, solvents, and outdoor UV exposure.

📐Dimensionally stable

Minimal warpage and predictable shrinkage for precision parts.

🪶Lightweight

Cuts weight by 30–40% versus steel or aluminum, without sacrificing rigidity.

● Long Fiber vs. Short Fiber: Which Delivers Superior Performance in HDPE?

With 30% long glass fiber reinforcement, LFT-G® HDPE LGF30 consistently outperforms standard HDPE GF30 across all key mechanical indicators. The continuous fiber network enhances load transfer, impact absorption, and thermal stability, while preserving the inherent chemical resistance and moisture barrier of HDPE – making it the preferred choice for structurally demanding applications.

● Processing Guidelines – Injection Molding

processing guide.png

  •  Pre-drying

3–5 hrs @ 85–110°C
Moisture < 0.05% (dehumidifying dryer recommended).

  •  Melt & Mold

Melt 267–299°C • Mold 80–100°C
Use a low-shear screw, large gates (≥5 mm).

  •  Injection & Purge

Pressure 85–135 MPa • Purge with PE/PP before shutdown.
Do not leave long-fiber melt in barrel.

● Applications

Chemical Storage Tanks & Process Vessels

Chemical Storage Tanks & Process Vessels

Large-scale tanks and containment vessels that hold aggressive chemicals, wastewater, or corrosive slurries. HDPE LGF30 delivers outstanding chemical inertness, low permeability, and dimensional stability under fluctuating fill levels, ensuring leak-free operation and long service life without metal corrosion concerns.

Heavy-Duty Pallets LFT-G

Heavy-Duty Pallets & Collapsible Containers

Reusable logistics platforms and foldable bins used in warehouses, distribution centers, and cold-chain storage. The long glass fiber network provides high impact resistance and creep resistance under stacked loads, while the low moisture absorption prevents warpage in humid or refrigerated environments.

Agricultural Irrigation Components & Fittings LFT-GAgricultural Irrigation Components & Fittings

Sprinkler headers, pipe couplings, and valve bodies exposed to fertilizers, soil, and UV radiation. The material resists stress cracking from agrochemicals, maintains tight dimensional tolerances for leak-proof joints, and withstands outdoor weathering across seasonal temperature swings.

Construction Formwork & Structural Profiles LFT-GConstruction Formwork & Structural Profiles

Modular concrete formwork panels, scaffolding planks, and structural channel sections that require a high stiffness-to-weight ratio for easy handling and assembly. Long glass fiber offers excellent load-bearing capacity, low deflection under wet concrete pressure, and resistance to moisture-induced swelling – reducing maintenance and prolonging reuse cycles.

FAQ

Q: How does HDPE LGF30 resist creep under long-term loading?

A:  The continuous glass network transfers stress efficiently and suppresses micro‑yielding, so deformation remains minimal even after thousands of hours. Creep rates are about 40% lower than short‑glass grades at equivalent loads. This ensures dimensional stability for pallet racks, tank supports, and industrial framing.

Q: What makes HDPE LGF30 outperform metals in chemical-contact applications?

A: The HDPE matrix is inherently inert to most acids, alkalis, and salt solutions, and the long glass fibers are fully encapsulated, preventing wicking or corrosion. Unlike steel or aluminium, it never pits or galvanically reacts, even in aggressive wastewater or agricultural chemicals. This yields a maintenance‑free lifespan of over a decade in pumps, valves, and storage vessels.

Q: What mould design rules prevent fibre damage during injection moulding?

A: Use full‑round runners, large direct gates (≥5 mm), and avoid sudden restrictions or sharp corners that create high shear. A low‑compression metering screw and free‑flow check ring further protect fibre length. Following these guidelines retains the reinforcing skeleton and delivers the material's full stiffness and impact strength.
